Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the fish and chips, calling it the best in Stockport. The crispy, light batter on the fresh haddock is a standout, earning high praises.

The mushy peas and homemade tartar sauce are must-tries that perfectly complement the meal. Portion sizes are another highlight, with many finding them generous yet manageable. The affordability of dishes ranging from £1 to £10 makes it an attractive option for casual dining.

People appreciate the clean, comfortable ambiance and the hospitality of the staff, who are always ready to share recommendations and offer a warm smile.

Most Disliked

Some customers mentioned that the location can get busy during peak hours, making waiting times longer, especially for takeaway orders. It's best to visit during off-peak times if you're in a hurry.

While the casual vibe is appealing, a few found the seating a bit limited for larger groups. Reservations might be necessary if dining with a crowd, especially on weekends or before local events.

Additionally, not everyone enjoys the offering of curry sauce, which can be polarizing. But for those keen on traditional flavors, this won’t be a concern.

I recently visited The Great Moor Fish Bar, and it truly lived up to its reputation! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, eager to recommend dishes and accommodate preferences. The fish was absolutely fresh and perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside while flaky and tender inside. The chips were golden and seasoned just right, complementing the fish wonderfully. I also appreciated the portion sizes; they were generous without being overwhelming. The ambiance was comfortable and clean, making it a great spot for both a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends. Prices were reasonable given the quality and portion sizes, and I felt I got excellent value for money. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious fish and chips with great service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Perhaps the best chippy in town! Their fish and chips dinner option is to go for. The staff is friendly, fish is fresh and I love the mild curry sauce.
